Finally brought the C5 to my regular shop (after an AAA jump start). Tested red top Optima battery and electrical system to make sure no large power drains. Battery was dead (I trust these guys that they didn't just tell me that to sell me a new battery). Anyway, Optima only had 27 months/7,000 miles on it. I'll re-install my window valet (thought that this could be draining the battery) and hope that it doesn't drain the new battery.
New battery is an Orbital #9934 78 Series with the words "non-spillable" on top. Napa parts branded battery with a Napa warranty. Probably cheaper if purchased directly through Napa but shop charged me $181.50.
Posted the above Tuesday. This a.m. battery was dead again. Noticed that the headlights popped up again. Tried to start it but no juice at all. I do have Twilight Sentinel turned off so I don't know the connection between th e dead battery and the highlights popping up (but not on - or is it they pop up and on and die by the time I notice them. Taking it back to my shop but need help with headlight/dead battery connection.

Checker Auto parts just raised their price this weekend for the Exide Orbital. From mid $130.'s to the mid $160.'s. The Sales guy couldn't tell me why though.
My original is almost 4 years old now. So while I was in there buying those cool big chrome naked lady mud flaps for my C-5, I thought I'd inquire about the Exide.

When purchasing mine, Sams had 3 varieties of Orbitals. One was a marine battery - the other two were car batteries. Both of the car versions will fit the C5.

Just put in my 2nd Orbital on Sunday after 2 1/2 years (former Florida car, about average battery life). NAPA store here lists them for $ 133, with warranty adjustment I only paid $ 42
Now if this one can last a bit longer now that the car is out of FL...
