If you look at the patents, you can see the design more better. There is actaully two designs. One is a single cam, and the other is a dual cam ( one on top of the other) . But both are not over head cams, and they run pushrods. Is GM working on a LS9 motor?
hmmm dual cam pushrod motor. looks more complicated with more parts than a single cam pushrod motor. more valve train weight. why not go to a dual over head cam?
As I understand it, that motor is, 6.2 liter, supercharged, and they are playing around with the valving and camming. I believe those heads are going to be using variable valve timing. The engine is supposed to be going into the C6 Blue Devil. I had a link to it, I'll try and find it.
does anyone actually know anything about this blue devil or SS. at first it was an LS7 supercharged now it's a 6.2 VTEC? honda is gonna be pissed. has to be a gm motor... but what? does gm contract other shops to do jobs like these?
You can find news updates about the new "STING RAY" in DIGITALCORVETTE.COM . The name was confirmed by Autoweek Magazine, I believe they have an excerpt from that article on their forum. Latest info has the engine as being an lower compression LS7 set up for supercharging with 600HP.
Looks like a push-rod head with rockershaft i.e.Buick v6.This looks like a soon to be hot set up.You can get the canted valve effect(not as much) of the big blk. Thks for the info!!!!
