It's the sway bar bushings. Just finished replacing mine, and I lubed them with energy suspension lube available at autozone. Problemed solved. It was quite embarrassing driving a car that sounded like a creaking door from a horror flick!

Well not so fast! It should correct the squeak for a short time but if you want to get rid of it permanently you need to replace the rubber bushings with polyurethane bushings. Energy Suspension makes them also but Ecklers sells them to fit your particular suspension (F45, F55, Z51 or Z06).

Just get it over with and go with the Z06 set up.

Also, if you are cheap like me. Then just take off the bushings, clean up the sway bar with some sand paper and clean the bushing out. Lube the bushings up good with a silicone based lube. Reinstall and you'll be good to go for a long time.

Couple of hours of your time and 1 can of lube.

Something that is highly recommended by master mechanics is using Never Seize to lube with. It is not water soluble, does not evaporate, and will actually impregnate the rubber. Cheap and easy. Did mine about a year ago and still no noise or binding. Still can see a little oil stain on the bushing around the bar as well.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but........

If you have the Z51 suspension, the only difference between it and the Z06 bars is the rear sway bar. The Z06 is larger/stiffer. Fronts are the same.

Quite a difference between the "soft ride" suspension and Z51, not much between the Z51 and Z06. Changed the valving in the rear shocks on the Z06 in '04, same as the Z51 up until then.

If I am mistaken, someone please provide accurate info.

I had the noise with my old sway bars. Then I switched to ZO6 bars and still had the noise. It's the bushings. I'm cheap so I cut the nylon insert out of the bushing and now no noise and the bars still work fine.
