Engine Stall under full acceleration

Engine Stall under full acceleration
cruising at about 50-60 MPH hit the gas all the way, car accelerates to 80MPH and then just sits there as if its speed limited, for about 5-10 sec. and then resumes accelerating, all the time with gas pedal fully depressed.
This has happend already many times, also with traction control off.
did this happen to you?
any idea what is causing this?

These C5's has so many sensors, you should use it to your advantage. Do a full scan and you will more than likely see what the problem is. But it sounds like maybe ignition retard. Are you hearing any knocking or pinging?
