I never had the rattle issue with my Kirban, and never heard anyone else complain about theirs either.

Default Six Shooter Shifter

Check out a new shifter on the market that was developed by corvette owners who have not be satisfied with whats on the market. I have used it on and off the track and love the quickness with much less effort over the Hurst or B&M that I have been using for years. You can look on the companies web page and read about it.
MTI Racing.com and its called the Six Shooter Shifter.:
Happy 4th everyone

but I've read here that some do rattle. The solution to that problem is fitting a cut tennis ball over the rubber boot, but under the leather one. I have the advise, but never needed it.

Default Missed Shifts

I had terrible problems missing third gear shifts and it seemed to happen when I MOST needed to shift well. I bought the B&M Sport Shifter and haven't missed a shift since. It doesn't rattle but it certainly is more difficult to push right for 5th and 6th gears...reverse is also difficult. I will put up with this inconvenience any day to cure the missed shift dilema!

B&M makes two shifters. The Ripper and the Sport. Of the two, the Sport is the newest and incorporates the rubber vibration isolator on the shaft (the "fat" part).
I also agree with the comments about the size and/or material the **** is made of having an affect on this too.
