how to reset c5 keyless entry remote?

1. Turn the ignition key to ON.
2. Clear any warning messages on the Driver
Information Center (DIC) by pressing the RESET
button.
3. Press the OPTIONS button on the DIC several
times until the blank page is displayed, then
press and hold the RESET button for two seconds.
4. When the message FOB TRAINING is displayed,
press the RESET button once. The message
HOLD LK + UNLK 1ST FOB will be displayed in
the DIC.
5. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the
first transmitter simultaneously for five seconds.
6. When a transmitter is learned (matched), the DIC
will display FOB LEARNED and then prompt you to
learn the second transmitter.
7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for the third transmitter.
8. Remove the key from the ignition.

we have such a great group here. i had the same problem and i programed my remote per the directions and it worked great.but it lost the program after about 1 day....i reprogramed it again and so far so good.what could cause the program to drop?bad bcm?or what.....?

If your loosing the FOB Sync,,your 12 VDC battery is weak and the B+ line voltage that supplies all of the modules is dropping below 9 VDC when you crank your car. It only need to drop that low for a milisecond and you will loose FOB sync. Press LOCK and UN-LOCK on the FOB at the same time and hold them until the horn toots. That is the FOB resync procedure. They should work after that or until the next time that the B+ voltage drops low! If that is the case "GET A NEW BATTERY!!!"
Pull your DTC codes and see if you have a bunch of U series codes or a bunch of NO COMMS codes, that's a dead give away that the battery could be causing the issue. Also see if your average fuel mileage readings reset to also.

thanks bill...great stuff i will do as you say....i did put a new battery in the remote but i thought the car battery might be suspect....some off brand....will check codes and see what is there.......what a great place
just checked and no u codes or no comms ....actually no severe codes all were classified as history and no current codes...
