I just changed my right turn signal a week ago and it has blown out again, this is like the 5th time in 2 years. I'm thinking water is getting in or something. What can I do to stop it from blowing out?
sometimes the top of the housing cracks and lets water drip on the hot bulb. that could be your problem. the fix is to pull it out and seal it up. there has been a photo thread on this not too long ago. try a search and you will find it. seems to be common.
yea, it said it was a royal pain to take out. I was hoping for something simpler but maybe I'll have to try that.
i am not sure if it can be done, but you might pull the shroud off the headlight and look down and see if you can just seal the top of the turn signal housing while it is still in the car. it might be worth a try. who knows it might save you from using a little profanity.
good luck.
The same thing happens to my right front also. I even have the bulb glass trapped inside the lense. The last time, about two weeks ago. When I changed the bulb I coated the base of the bulb with dielectric grease. Hopeing it will act as a water seal. So far so good. Good luck with yours.
