Service Ride Control
My '98 is displaying the "Service Ride Control" warning message. I have taken it to a dealer and an independent Corvette specialist. Both diagnosis computers show codes C 1780 and U 1040.
No one seems to know anything further about these codes as far as predicting a repair other than "It may cost $1100.00" Can you shed any light on this? I would like it repaired but I am sensing a part by part replacement until it works scenario.
Do I have a potentially dangerous situation? The car doesn't display any of the problems shown in the owners manual such as an 80 MPH limit on speed. I read that the difference in the three damping settings is almost not noticeable by many owners. I prefer the touring ride.
Do you have any recommendations on how to proceed? I'm uncomfortable in leaving the repair to someone who admits to having no experience with this system. I live in the 91786 area code of southern Ca. Thanks.
