I contacted Chuck @ COW and after speaking with him, he is just SO knowledgable, I realized that a professional tune is the way to go. I live close to his shop and as soon as I have some time I am going to bring my car in for that tune. Whats great is that he will do a free retune if you opt for further mods through him, which I understand is a necessity each time you do another performance mod.

You are correct. (Comment deleted by cor99vete). There is NO WAY that any hand held junk can do what I can do with the software I have.....THERE IS NO COMPARISON between my tune and anything that is possible with a hand held....The hand held has a "yes" "no" and two arrow buttons....it's got about as much smarts as your KEY FOB.....Pluss...If you have an automatic.......FUGGETABOUTIT!!!!!!!! There are like 3 or 4 things you can change with an A4 trans using a hand held....With my software you can change afew HUNDRED parameters....

I build these A4 transmissions every day and program them as well....GOOD LUCK TO YOU if you think you and your hand held can even come close to the level of performance I can deliver to a vehicle with an A4....

REMEMBER....That A4 TRANS is very complex and the tuning for it is even more complex....I don't care how much power your engine makes....If the trans is not programmed to DELIVER that power to the driver the right way at the right time......It's a waste....and you will not be happy....

Some people just never know what they are missing....UNTILL they find something better.....

MY TUNING RULE....If I tune tune your car....and you are not completely BLOWN AWAY by the improvment.... YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY ME ONE PENNY...I'll put you back to the way you came in and you spend NOTHING.... Even guys with cars that have already been tuned but tuners or with hand helds.....Same rule applys.

Before custom tuning was available to everyone....Handhelds had something to offer. (Comment deleted by cor99vette).
A good tune costs about the same as a hand held. You decide.

Call me if you want to know more.

Thanks -- I'm having some problems with my car (see the current thread in C5 Scan & Tune), and I plan on making the hike out from Sleepy Hollow, NY (Westchester) to Long Island to have them tune it.

A friend of mine with a a supercharged Z06 (they did the work) speaks very highly of them. He lives down the block in Irvington, and agrees the drive is worth it.

My problem is that this is their busy season, so do you think they'll take a simple tune job right now?

Sorry to hear about the problems your having with your car. Your in Sleepy Hollow? Save yourself the gas and just go see Chuck at Corvettes of Westchester who is in Sleepy Hollow. I guarantee you that when Chuck gets done tuning your car you will be one very happy Corvette owner. Just tell him exactly what you had done to the car and Chuck will customize a tune just for your car with those mods. Also Chuck will road test your car numerous times to make sure everything is O.K., and adjust any tables/paramaters that he needs to during the road test until everything is fully optimized!. When you get done your car will run like a beast, he won't just throw in some kind of generic tune and tell you to go away, he will not send you home until your car is just right!!. Also I don't want to start a war here, but I have been at Chuck's shop numerous times when there was somebody there that got their car tuned by one of the so called "very popular" shops (I won't mention no names) and Chuck was able to improve the tune they received by a large margin!, some of these cars were actually running like "crap". Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to do!!

Wish I lived near Chuck. You can't beat a guarantee like that, and you can't usually find one. If I knew of a tuner near my home that guaranteed results that would 'blow me away' or no pay, I'd be in their shop already.
