Default Will this hood seal do the trick?

Found this from ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CORVE...spagenameZWD1V

I have ordered a CLB from this guy in the past and it worked great. Does this seal look like its the same as something from Ecklers?

Go down and find you a Pep Boys, Autozone, or something like that and look at their stick-on weatherstripping. I found some that is "D" shaped cheap at Autozone.

or just don't bother with it at all, it's not doing anything anyway.

Then you will have to get some wider rims and tires for the back. A properly installed and functioning hood seal adds a lot of horsepower to the car.

I'm more interested in the keeping the engine compartment clean aspect.

However, that ebay writeup says my engine has been ingesting water this whole time without it. Who can keep allowing that to happen?

I added weatherstripping only to keep the water out while washing. I always hated having to dry everything off before it spotted under the hood. Works for that...

Lowe's weatherstripping
keeps the water out on washing and in my opinion keeps rain water out of the top half of the engine while driving.

Yes, it will work but as others have mentioned some weather stripping from a local supplier will work just as well too.

The choice is yours.

It will help keep the engine compartment a 'little' cleaner, that's about it. As the others have stated, you will get a lot of hp and tq increase, but what you gain in that department, you will lose in added weight.

The strip in the link looks the same as the typical unit from Ecklers or WCC but it is not being installed correctly. It does not get stuck to the front edge but flat on the bottom. When the hood is closed you can't see it - but it shows in the photos on the link. That is not correct.

I would not buy anything from someone who doesn't know how the thing is supposed to work.

Go to Ecklers or West Coast Corvette - at least you will get some decent instructions and the price is about the same - support the forum sponsors.
