Check engine light came on the other day. I looked at the codes in the DIC but all the codes are marked with an H for history. So if there is no problem why is the light still on?

Most codes that illuminate the MIL require a number of start cycles without a current code before the MIL is turned off. Any one of the history codes you had that would illuminate the MIL need to be checked to see how many cycles are needed before they clear.
For example, the DTC P0113 IAT Sensor Circuit High Voltage code requires 3 consecutive ignition cycles witout a current failure before the MIL turns off. The code will remain as a History code until 40 consecutive warm-up cycles with no new failure.

Not sure if the Vette does this or not..mines all covered up or I'd go check. I can always tell when my wife gets gasoline in her car. She never gets the cap on right or tight and the check engine light comes on until corrected.

Had the same issue after leaving the vette covered for a while. Battery died and jumped it off. Had the check engine light with no associated codes. After 3 engine starts, no more check engine light .

Check your gas cap...re-seat it and clear the codes.
