Rubbery smell from belt
Had the serpentine belt replaced and the coolant flushed and everything works great but now I have a rubbery smell coming from the engine compartment that wasn't there before. The belt is fairly soft and it does smell rubbery, but is not slipping and appears to be wearing okay.
Is this normal for a new belt or is the smell coming possibly from somewhere else?

From: Not on either liberal coast.
It could be the initial breaking in. Check to make sure the belt has no extreme wear or tears on the outside edges which could indicate mis-alignment or worn parts in need of replacement.

It's been on now for a few weeks.
