Stereo noise thru speakers: help
sound when I have the stereo on when in moderate to loud volume.
It is very noticable like when listening to morning radio when they go
from music to talk/ quiet time..
I thought that maybe a new alternator might solve it since My Alternator
bearing was sqeaking anyway , but that made no difference.
Car is 2000 vert w/ stock single disc cd player and stock bose
speakers.
Please tell me where to look

I too have the phantom noise, more pronounced on AM stations.
Even asked the dealer about it when I had the car in for some other issues.
Dealer could not replicate the problem because the only time it does it is when
I have my cell phone in the car and turned on.
Discovered this by accident because I forget my phone one time and realized the noise was gone.
As I pass between cell tower coverage areas, the noise is kind of like a white noise Morse Code.
Also, a second or two before I receive a call, the noise will be louder and constant.
This also happens in the DD (1995 Impala SS).
Hope this helps...............

I have the same morse code noise, but had dismissed it as a factory amp on its last leg. It could explain some of our problems.
