I have been planning on lowering my 2002 Z06, but before I do so I would like to know how to adjust Camber. There is alot of great info on lowering the car on the forum, just can't find Camber adjustment. I have a Camber/Caster guage (Fastrax). The parts I will be putting on my car are Bilstein sports and the standard lowering bolts with 1/3 cut front bushings. Thank you all in advance for your input.
You change camber when lowering the car. If you want to adjust camber/caster you turn the camber cams on the lower control arm mounts at the cradle. To get increased Caster you need the lower control arm rear adjuster shoving the back of the control arm out as far as possilbe and you need to pull the front of the control arm in which effects camber. Thus Camber and Caster are interrelated. You can also add/subtract washers from behind the front upper control arm mounts. Once you change the camber you will also have to change front and rear toe. The rear toe is a little more critical to set since you need the wheels set so your thrust angle is as close to 0 as you can get it. That means stringing the car so you can set the rear toe with minimum thrust angle. If you don't do this your car could end up being a dog walker.
Go to http://vettenet.org/align.html for a write up on how to do an alignment. It is for a C4 but the concepts are the same although the method of adjustment is a little different.
