I have recently installed a fuel pressure gage in my 02 z06 and have a problem with finding a good switched hot source. I have tried several that are switched sources and once i make contact i then have a problem where once upon first startup i no longer have power to that source. When i turn the headlights on I then get a reading but only temporarily. What do I need to do? Is there a specific source that I should be going to for this?
Thanks!

When I installed mine, I grabbed power from the accessory pigtail on the passenger side. Depending on the year there should be an unused harness in the passenger footwell by the BCM. Orange wire is hot all the time, yellow ignition powered and black ground. I forget the fuse size, but it was more than enough to handle the gauges and a raptor shift light.
I hooked the wire to the switched source, but now have a new problem. I only have power when I turn on the lights. If they are off so is the gage even though the connection is good and the connector is good as well. I am really confused. Any ideas?
Thanks!

the gage needs 2 different sources of pwr, ignition and lights; you do have 2 seperate sources?
Are the lights on for the gauge all the time? Sounds like you may have the leads reversed. BTW: With regular gauges that have light bulbs, the dimmer will not change the gauges. Corvette uses a system that flashes the lights really fast just like an electronic dimmer at home. More time with the lights on the brighter they appear. There is a circuit board you can make and wire up which will dim the lights on the gauges with the dash lights. I can search for it if interested, it has been a long time since I installed mine.
Actually I had wired up the box and have it hooked up to work off of the dimmer circuit. That works fine. I believe that the problem may be on the ground side. I recently learned that if I am using a ground wire and not a chassis ground I can have this problem. I need to check further on that.
Thanks!
