I just got a 07 C6 Z51 with the 6 speed auto. Been doing some 0-60's using a G-Tech Pro. This car launches great. Just a little wheel spin and off she goes. That's launching the converter around 1500rpm. No falling on it's face or going up in smoke. I'm use to a C5 Zo6 and it would usually either fry the tires or the clutch or bog out of the hole. Comp mode for both cars. Best 0-60 is 4.55 so far. Only 250 miles on car. Could not wait til the recommended 500 miles.
I'm assuming that this the Vette's torque management kicking in. How does it work? Does it use a set of constant variables? Is there a reprogramming tool that will allow adjustments for the A6 tranny system.
You can lower TM by a handheld programmer or a tune.
I would not shut it off all the way, your tranny won't last long. Plus when you start to lower it, the shift shock gets harder and harder and on a daily driver it sucks.
Just lower it by 1/2. Thats just enough to chip second gear
Most of the Handheld tuners for the C5 will REMOVE the TM from the car. I think you have to get a custom tune to "lower" it. I used the Predator and am very happy overall but I am concerned the the long term effects on the Auto tranny. I would like to add a "little" TM to lessen the shock (and hook up a little better in 2nd gear).
