Default Oil in the intake

Pulled the intake after taking the car off of the dyno since it was smoking a ton on the dyno. This is what I get.

I did a leak down on the new shortblock and it reads 190 all around. So I figure the rings are fine. When I pulled the intake it is got oil all in the runners as well. I am thinking it is the pcv system, anything to look for on a new ls2 short block PCV system....

I did the CF catch can. I was amazed at what it collected even under non-spirited driving. Probably doesn't catch all of it but any is beter than none.

By the way.......how much bottle you runnin' there?

LSx engines are known for oil in the intake.
Many run one or more oil catch cans.
The oil mists in the rocker covers and flows through the PCV hoses into the intake.

Some go to a harware store ( HomeDepot or Lowes) others to Walmart and buy the small Campbell Hausfield oil-water separator for an air compressor and insert it in line after the rockers and fore the intake.
Others buy a purpose built catch can.
There are several current offers on the forum
Do a search and you should find them

But the motor was smoking really bad on start up all the time. As soon as the car would sit for awhile and was started it smoked for about 5 seconds then would stop. On heavy driving it would smoke alot also.

I agree with you and the others that it is coming in from the PCV, but there could also be a another place it is coming in from. I see you have Stage 3 LS6 heads. Usually when the intake runner is ported it will go through into the intake rocker bolt channel, so you will have a hole that the intake rocker bolt sticks out of. If they weren't put in with threadlocker or silicon to prevent oil from wicking down the bolt into the intake runner you will get the same symptoms as a bad seal, smoke on startup and heavy acceleration especially after idleing even though your rings are looking good, as per your leakdown test.

"Wicking" is an understatement. If you have ^ then seal those bolts, it will make a huge differnce.
Oil in the intake is another story. Not sure there is a good cure for that one. I have tried everything.

I did you threadlocker on all the rocker bolts. I also used alittle thread sealant on them as well. I thought it was the same thing, but that didnt fix it. I am goin to install a catch can and see what that does.
