PFC makes good pads. All of their high performance pads are called Carbon Metallic. I know plenty of people who have had excellent results using their street pads (Z Pads). I have used their race pads many times and they are very good but only at the track where they get hot enough to work properly.

I bought some drilled and slotted rotors from sportbrakes.com and a friend who took these home also bought some brake pads from PFC.When I looked on their site these pads were the cheapest ones i could find even in relation with other pads like Hawk etc.Is there any relation between the price of pads and their performance? So,cheaper pads=less performance?
A complete set of these PFC pads were around 90$ .....I must say that after the brake-in period these pads do brake fine only I'm loosing a lot of "zinc coating" but that's normal I guess. So the big question is:use'm or loose'm?
I have PFC "Z" pads and I'm happy with them. Fade resistant, no noise and less brake dust.
less brake dust than what???
One trip to work on the highway and my wheels were coated with a nice layer brake dust. I was constantly washing my wheels and they don't work until they heat up. On track events they work very well and resisted fading so for that purpose I liked them. When I bought new wheels I decided not to track it anymore and the pads were removed. I really like the GM ceramic pads now and they grip well cold. The dust is very light hardly visible after 500 miles.
It really depends on what you want to use them for. For the street, I wouldn't use them. They don't stop well when cold and they are messy.
At PFC there are 2 kinds of brake pads for the C5.The "Z" pads and the "normal" ones.I have the "normal" ones, the cheapoos and must say indeed that they brake better after they're heated up.After haevy breaking a few times still no fading.I will consider other brake pads if they were really, really bad....I've used them for about 60 mls now and maybe it's to early to say that they're not that good?
Also considering the higher speed limits over here and sometimes beyond those limits firmer pads are needed for braking.I will inquire some info about some other pads here at the corvette shops. Thanks for the replies thusfar.....
Well, oke,I swapped my PFC brake pads with the AC Delco durastop(golden pads?)and let me tell you what a difference.I think there's a double amount of stopping power in the AC Delco pads....HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!
i have the PFC carbon metallics and they are in my opinion best bang for your buck ..
they stop great, dont fade (hard street driving, not track), produce WAY less brake dust than the standard metallics (i have those on the rears), and while im on my second set of rears i still have a good amount left on the fronts (after 35k)
I will definitely choose these again .. and while you're at it .. upgrade your brake fluid .. i'd recommend Motul 600 Dot 4.
I installed these PFC pads at the same time I changed the new drilled and slotted rotors and when the pads came of today they looked horrible...
Maybe a bad brake-in period of myself that caused the pads not to brake that well as I would have liked.
