I went to crank the Car this afternoon, and all i hear is a clicking. I immediately think it is the battery, but when checking the battery the indicator shows green. I also hear a loud buzzing coming from the computer in the passenger floorboard (BCM?). Anyway, should I run and buy a new battery first? or just have it towed to the dealer for inspection tomorrow?
This ia a 99 with almost 60,000 mile on the odo, so the battery is bound to in need of replacing?
I think that the "Green Eye" only moniters one of the cells in the battery, so you may still have a bad battery. You could try jump starting it, but I really don't like to do that. If it jump starts, then that would be a pretty good indication of a bad battery.
I thought ataDude summed it up pretty well. I think if you follow his advice you'll be up and running.
Check your battery cable harness, too. I had my Camaro develop rust on the cable and it prevented the car from starting, even though the battery was new.
One other time, I had the neutral switch on the clutch pedal go bad, preventing the engine from starting.
The positive terminal was broke and leaking acid. I think I caught the acid before it caused a big problem. Unfortunatley, there are no Pepboys around here... So I went acorss the street to Sears and bought a Diehard Gold. (I would like to have bought a Optima... :( )
