How Is This Installed?

A friend suggested I upgrade as shown in the photo below... the problem (to me) is the sensor that's installed in the original component... shold it be re-routed, removed, left alone... I'm sure this isn't rocket science, just something I know nothing about ! Thanks.

That line goes to the fuel pressure reg. on 97-98 C5s. I simply used a 3/16 drill bit to punch a hole in the new coupler and press the fitting in

It's the vac line to your 97-98 fuel pressure regulator. You can "T" it into the vac line to your brake booster, or anywhere in your intake so long as it seals.
