I had a botched clutch install that pinched the harness. It was repaired, but i still get an occasional P0803 code. Does anyone know the location of the wire that goes to the skip shift module so I can hardwire a fix without dropping the tranny again?
The pictures in the link show the correct location of the connector, on the driver's side of the tranny near the top.
You can follow the harness from there to see if the wire is pinched, or it's possible the wiring at the connector is the problem (broken wire or pin) since that's likely the weakest area. These wires are pretty thin.
Thanks for the replies! What I'm really looking for is an access to the wire BEFORE it passes the bell housing. that is where it is/was pinched, so I'm thinking that i can hard wire one somewhere close to the pcm.
If a sloppy job was dine that requires pulling the drivetube and the wiring loom gets pinched by end of driveshaft and the tunnel plate has to come off and hopefuly get to wires above the drivetube.
I'm looking for the location of the wire somewhere before the bell housing so I don't have to drop the exhaust/pan/housing... etc.
I'm going to try just terminating the wire/wires first, than hardwiring a skip-shift if that doesn't work. It doesn't actually use the skipshift due to the dyno tune, so I'm not sure which will work.
It's just one of those things that **** me off with the light coming on. Once the car is warmed up, I can reset it and it stays off.
