Vert owners please read - trunk lid issues!

) or any extra tools.I came across this part (OpenEZ Trunk Lift) manufactured by VetteMods.com ( http://www.vettemods.com/Trunk.htm ) and wanted to know if anyone has tried this and, if so, how well it works.
I'm interested in hearing from those that have first hand experience whether on your car or a friends.
Thanks!

I thought the purpose of the forum was to give advice and try to have fun and save money. Guess the idea of installing a fart can and rice wing is better than the spring.
Thanks for the spring advice Rocky!

. I wasn't looking for alternative solutions to my trunk lid issues; I've tried them all (even the fixs that work for other people
). I said that I was looking for anyone that had actually purchased or have seen the part I mentioned first hand.Don't get me wrong, all of your suggestions are appreciated
Thanks!
just to lighten the mood , maybe ask that chick to get off your deck lid in your avatar
I also have done all the fixes ,but I wont spend that much $ on that trunk lift thing
its just one more thing to go wrong at some point. The only other solution that I have seen and is my next step is the BMW bump stops with the little popper springs in them
they do work I have seen them with my own eyeballs in a deck lid of a c5.Maybe one of our C5 brethren has the part number for these

...I know I would.

Thanks, I needed that! I'm not sure she weighs enough to make a difference though. Besides if I told her, I might be able to open my trunk a little easier because I would be in it!
I went the way of the BMW spring loaded stoppers (for a BMW 518i) but the diameter of the BMW part is larger than the hole in the deck lid. I didn't want to screw up the deck lid by making the holes larger. At this point however, I'm thinking that going back to the two $25 BMW parts might be the way to go.
I applaud any attempt to correct this situation. The fact that so many people search for a fix tells me that the issue is real. I created this device after much personal frustration, and after trying several other solutions. I take the statement that "It looks like a high tech answer to a low tech problem," which is a fair assessment, as a compliment
. I do however think there are some advantages to my approach.A spring, regardless of placement is under constant tension when the trunk is closed. The spring will eventually loose its ability to pop the lid open, especially since the trunk is not accessed often. The factory mechanism utilizes a spring. OpenEZ does not trigger until the trunk latch is actually released.
The larger, or stiffer bumpers are placing a constant pressure on the corners of the lid. This may cause the trunk lid to look miss-aligned when closed, and although slight, may warp the lid over time.
If you have the additional weight of a liner or other item on the trunk lid, the situation becomes much worse. The OpenEZ uses a large solenoid to over come this.
The price is due to several factors. The OpenEZ is cut, drilled, bent and tapped from aluminum by a machine shop, in very small quantities at this point, so its not cheap. I use quality assembly and electronic parts, also purchased in small quantities. Also, each unit is assembled and adjusted by hand. Given these facts, I feel that this device is priced fairly.
There are definitely less expensive ways to tackle this problem, with which some seem to have success, and as a long time member of this forum (eitspc5) I appreciate everyone's eagerness to offer them up. This forum is great, that's why I am here as a supporting vendor. However, if none of the other solutions work for you, please give the OpenEZ a try, you can return it within 30 days and I will repair or replace it for a year.
