Default Driver's side head light issue

My headlights still work and go up and down, however when I turn then off the driver's side light goes down but makes a loud buzzing noise for about 10 seconds and then stops. Almost sounds as if something is obstructing it from completing it's full range of motion and the motor keeps trying to push it down. I gave it a quick visual inspection and didn't see anything that might be obstructing it. The headlight does go all the way down too.

Anyone else seen this behavior before? This is on an 00 C5.

Thanks for any replies.

Whoops, I just fought illiteracy and read some old threads:

Looks like a new set of gears is in order.

Your headlight motor gear is stripped.

There's a good description with pics in this sticky

Run down to Headlight Gears.

Looks like the brass gears are the way to go and aren't too pricey.
