Default Power steering leak

Hi, I have a 2000 C5 6 speed. I have a slight power steering leak from the high pressure line. I purchased the line and decided I was going to do it myself. Anybody do this yet? Is there a procedure I have to follow? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same issue with my 01 Z. The power steering pressure line is rotting and leaking and needs to be replaced. I was quoted $65 from the dealer for a new pressure line and I was curious how hard it is to swap. Let me know if you ever get your installed. Thanks.

I would hose the connections down with carb cleaner before disconnecting them to clean all the crud off. From what I remember, it's not difficult. Be prepared to remove the FR wheel as you may have to work your hand/arm in through the wheel well area to reach the rack side of the hose. Just make sure you use hydraulic box end wrenches so you don't strip the nuts.

may be easier to gain access to the rack side of the line by removing the alt., get an 18mm flare wrench, some of those lines are a real pita from GM

Totally AGREE

I can't tell even begin to discuss how easy something looks after reading the manual then try to do the work. There is a special language I learned when the fitting rounds off or you tighten the fastner to feel that oops. I usually buy the special tools for the job to make it easier. I found that on hydraulic hoses to power steering they round off very easy , so I use tubing wrenches 6 point to make sure they come out.

Best of luck vettdvr
