Default Funny Smell

I get a smell under hard acceleration that smells like propane. I don't have the original cats and it has done it with the original cats and still with the high flow. Any ideas.

perhaps an exhaust leak ahead of/at the cats ?

Maybe it's not the cars exhaust, it might be coming from something allot closer.......

Now, a more serious relpy...

Even thought you changed out the stock cats for the high flow model don't they still contain a similar material core to control exhaust emissions? If this is true then it's probably the cause for the intermittent propane odor.

It is odd the odor is the same with the stock cats out. I am going to see if there is a leak somewhere.. it is so noticable my wife commented when we driving the other day.. thanks

If I read your post correctly you've removed the stock catalytic converters and replaced them with the high-flow catalytic converters. Either way they bosh contain a core made out of similar material to control exhaust emissions. While the flow is increased the smell from both will be the same....
