CAI didn't fit, could it be the wrong one?

CAI didn't fit, could it be the wrong one?
I bought a preowned CAI from a board member who had an FRC. When I went to install it on my Z06, I noticed that pretty much nothing fit. The intake was a Vortex, and the filter wouldn't go over the end of MAF, and the other end had a REALLY REALLY hard time going over the air bridge.
My question, is there a difference between c5 CAI's and Z06 CAI's? Probably is, seeings how nothing fit.
