Default yea another LGM Pro vs Street

I searched but couldnt find what I want looking.

but I was thinking, the exhaust is only as big as its smallest point.
I have corsa pace car exhaust on my car with is 2.5" piping
so how would I benifit going with the LGM Pro LTs if going to flow through my 2.5" Corsas anyway. convince me.

well- its the collector design on the pro series that gives them the added HP...to behonest, 5 HP is not really anything you can feel unless you have done many mods and need to get every bit of performance out of them as possible. For instance, I got 30 RWHP from my Kooks LT's, highflow CATS and 3" X pipe on my 97...and it butted up to a Z06 catback...it was 3" all the way to the catback. Like I said, if you are looking at every ounce of power then that reduction may cost you some...(where it meets the 2.5")

If you are looking for a great design, and can live with 5HP less...the streets are very nice for the price ( I have been looking at them myself for my 2000) you can get the same net results with Kooks and Dynatechs as well...but the streets are less $$. I can't justify +$500 for 5HP myself...I am not in the racing circuit...no rub to LG, they make some awesome parts!

makes sense, I just like doing stuff right the first time so doing my home work on the 2.
I'll be keeping the 346, but G5X3 and heads will be in the future. and a small shot.

There's a lot more to it than that. Search a bit, there's a lot of data on header and exhaust design.

The point is you have to ask yourself if you want the very best for your ride or something less. If you want the best go with the LG Pros W/ Random Tech 3" cars and pipes.
If not, there's lots of good also rans, Dynathec, LG Streets, Stainless works, TPIS, Kooks and many more.

It all depends on how you feel about your ride. For me nothing but the best makes sense and I would rather wait and save the $$ until I can buy it.

Just my .02.

I wasn't really looking for the "best" header. I was more interested what would of my best for my setup. I know with the cam I'll lose some low end. and with 1 7/8 headers, I'll lose more. maybe little more with heads, I'm also keeping stock gears. this is my daily driver, losing low end with take someof the fun out of getting to work. thats why I was looking at the street series to keep the powerband a little low in the RPM range. I know either way it will make power up top. and spray helps up there also.
I was under the assumption that 1 7/8 was more suitable for bigger cubes with I wont have, makes sense?

The 1 7/8 LG Pros are specifically designed for the LS sears engines and will only complement the Corsas, G5X3 cam, and heads. The Pros would defiantly be the best for your setup, if you where going to leave the motor stock then I would say go with the streets. You will not be sorry I promise! I’m not!!!

hot gases cool down they slow down. as they go to end of the car the pipe gets smaller the exhaust speeds up. thats why two tip borlas are good for 15 more HP than the 4 tip borlas with the same muffler. look at a dirt bike pipe.

I went through the same debate you are with what version of the LG headers to get. In the end, I opted for the Pro's simply based on the fact that I am of the mindset "don't leave anything on the table" and as such, if they're worth 5 HP over the streets on a bolt on car, how much more would be left on the table with a head/cam car?

On a side note, after seeing some good pics of the AR headers, I'd be interested to see a direct comparison of those to the LG Pro's. The design is extremely close between the two.

the Pro's are much better to work with when installing, they are night and day when compared to the streets
