I guess I need a little help understanding the '99 CAGS system. At random times I get a "Check Engine" light on the dash -Ialways have it checked out and every time it is P0803 (Upshift / Skip Shift Solenoid).
Here's the interesting part: the stock solenoid is "bypassed". Its not even in the circuit.
I can shift from 1st to 2nd just fine - I just need to know how to get the "check engine" light from coming on.
Any thoughts as to why I continue to get that code and possible ways to prevent the code ??
Looks like the bypass is one of those "plug-in" style connectors that terminates the grey/pink wire set. There is also a terminating cap on the solinoid in order to prevent any dirt from contaminating the connector. I didn't nstall the bypass, it looks like the one shown in the mid-america catalog PN 603-703
