Default Different Headlight Actuator Problem

OK, so my right side light doesn't go up and won't stay up. So after checking the Forum, I buy Rodney's brass gear figuring the plastic gear is stripped. Upon disassembling the unit, I find that the pin connecting the motor actuator arm to the underside of the light assembly is missing.

Does anyone know what this part looks like and it's part number? From what I can see on the left side without taking it all apart, is that the pin looks like some kind of rod with end blocks to keep it in place.

Looking for part numbers now
you might want to look for pin in that area it is probably stuck in back in fender liner crease.

I had the pin come loose on my headlight a few years ago. The pin has a flat head on one end and is held in place with a lock washer on the other end. If my memory serves me right it was about 1-1/2" to 2" long. Check the other headlight for the exact dimensions. If you don't find it at the bottom of your cavity, you should be able to pick up a replacement at a harware store since there's nothing special about it.

Good info, I put a bolt in as a temporary fix, but it looks like the bottom half of the end retaining blocks are gone too.

JC in XTC5's fix seems to be working fine so I'm not going to worry about it.

Anyone need a Rodney brass replacement gear?
