Vette Essentials website has excellent directions (with photos) to remove the entire center console (and then some). Its actually really easy after the first time you do it; Really only takes 15 or 20 minutes.

I got it completed just by winging it, but I'm going to go the route of getting some service manuals for a NICE Christmas Present. I love my car and don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon, so it's the best investment I can make. Later dudes.
