Ok my Vette is bleeding Its coming out of the transmission case were the two pieces connect. Well took to dealership (thought I still had my warrenty) well I dont, $1400 to fix it. Well Im doing it my self. All they said was needed is the seal. Where can I get that seal at? I can do the labor, but scared to do the tranny part. Should I take it to someone to do just the seal or is it simple enough to do? Please help, I miss driving it!!! Thank Ya'll for the Help!
how bad is it leaking? a few drops overnight or puddles....a few drops..drive it....add every few months....puddles ..park it......mine leaks itty bit...just have it topped off w/ oil changes
There is a seal plate that fits between the trans & rear end. It has a o-ring outer seal (trans case to rear end) and a output shaft seal that fits over the transmission shaft.
Do a search on RTV and transmission case leaks. Some one came up with a fix using RTV and his shop Vac which drew the sealant into the seal. Said it works.

Well it depends on how far I drive. Sometimes its a few drops and sometimes itsa small puddle. I'll fill it up to get by for a little while. But one thing where do I fill it up and how? Thanks for all the help!
Theres a few parts it could be leaking from. Is it where the diffy mates to the trans? Is it the transmission extension housing (not the rear, but towards the rear of the car?), or is it the front bell housing plate of the trans?

You have to get a suction gun and jack up the car evenly and remove the fill plug on the side of the transmission. There is no dipstick. Tranny is in the rear.

Thanks man, I know where eactly it is and I think I can get a suction gun from work. Thanks Again!!
I"ain't" a techy but if the leak is coming from the differential seal, I had the same problem on my 04. Had it replaced twice by the dealer, it was a major job; had to disconnect rear axle, etc. My corvette technician told me this was a problem with the C5 (leaking seal on the differential). If that is the case you may ("may") have a case with your dealer and Gm in general......may be worth a try. C5 XTC
Ok just crawled out from underneath. Its the casing bewteen the rear diff and the transmission. The leaking is coming from the transmission side. I can do this myself (changed a lot if clutches out of the C5) but if I take the housing off will anything fall out? or is that pretty easy to replace? Thank Ya'll for all the helpful info!!
