Hello.....need some help...I have a C3, but my son has a 99 Camaro with LS1. We keep blowing the fuse for the sensor, and was looking for any suggestions on how to isolate the failure. Anyway to bypass the MAF to try to isolate the unit? Maybe there is a short in the wire to fuse panel, but I am trying to isolate that, before I trace the wire back. Any suggestions are appreciated.
You can unplug it. Do the fuses blow upon key on or does the car have to start/run? Also is the IAT sensor integral to the MAF or is it seperate. A 3pin MAF will have a seperate IAT sensor on the end of a brach wire from the MAF harness. If you only have a wire going to the MAF then you have a 5 pin MAF with integral IAT sensor. If it's stock, the 97-00 cars have 75mm MAF's and use 3pin MAF's, and the 01-04 cards use 85mm MAF's with 5 pin connector's and integral IAT sensor.

NOt sure of the year to year breakdown of the F-Body's, but if you have an 85mm MAF or 75mm MAF you can see. You can also just unplug the MAF and count how many pins...

Its a 3 pin. Fuse blows when we matt the throttle when driving. If we matt throttle in Nuetral (six speed) fuse doesnt blow. Seems to only happen when car is moving. We have tried to giggle wires. and giggle MAF, but no failures. DO MAF sensors go bad? Can I isolate it and loop the wire from the MAF to fuse block? Can something be going on when high volume of air is running thru it?
