Default Yet Another Thank You Vette Doctors Thread......

I have a 6 year old Vette Doctors Heads/Cam setup, which was just flashed with their new tune parameters. I also had a spark plug change and a valve adjustment. When I drove off of their lot I knew right away that the car felt faster though today was my proof. Today was the Corvette Show & Go at E-Town Raceway Park. In the 90+ degree heat at I ran my personal best time of 11.996 @ 114.72 MPH. Also I was told by some regular E-Town racers that todays track was especially slow and that in cooler weather and a better track I would have shaved off a few tenths and added about 4-5 MPH, so I am ecstatic. I also clocked off a 12.2 and a 12.3, which I am very happy with. So again, thank you Vette Docs!! You may bust my b*lls alot but in the end you always come through.

I guess his computer must be broken since he usually scans the forum 24-7 so he can be the first one to respond in all Vette Doctors threads.

Congrats on the new PB!

Hey Spence, Great runs the other day. I'll have to keep practicing in order to catch up to you. I know that my girl has more than a 12.3 @121 MPH in her. I'll have to attend some of the night sessions to get in some valuable seat time.

"Engine & Exh: Vette Drs. Heads/Cam Rx 475, VaraRam, CC Magnum 1.85 RR's/921 Springs, LS6 Intake, 170*Stat/Fan Kit, Pulley, Kooks 1 7/8" Offroad, Z06 Ti's, PCM, MSD's.
Drivetrain & Susp: 3.90's w/HD Shafts, HP A4, Shift Kit, Vig 3200 TC, Hotchkis, Bilsteins, Z06 Calipers, SS Lines, BE Rotors, Mags, Nitto's"

Don't mean to be the party pooper here, but with your list of mods I would think you should do a lot better than 11.996@114.72! That seems like a typical track time for a bone stock C5 Z06 with Nitto's, although actually many bone stock C5Z's have trapped much higher. And you were only trapping 110mph before the new tune, plug change and valve adjustment with all those mods on a C5?? Thats crazy. I know its a 99, and auto and a vert, but still thats a full bolt-on H/C C5!

I love the Vette Doc's too and I am glad your happy with it, but that just doesn't seem right to me. You paid a LOT for all those mods and the track times are only on par with a bone stock Z.

IIRC, it was about 100 degrees that day and his 60 foots weren't spectacular. Which more than explains his E.T. and MPH. I believe I would have only been trapping about 115 myself.

I'm not sure what a bone stock Z runs but I can tell you that there aren't too many of them in the 11's trapping much higher than 115, bone stock. My car started life at a measly 280 RWHP and did the 1/4 mile at approx 13.8 @ 103 MPH so now that I am close to the 400 RWHP figure with an A4 and 3.90's, trapping 10+ mph higher and shaving almost 2 sec off of my quarter mile time, I am happy. I'm not sure where the 110 MPH speed came from in your post but my heads/cam package is extremely mild and going on 6 years old. Also I rarely if ever go to the track and am far from a pro. I'm certain that in more capable hands my car is quicker. Also I did not heat up the Nitto's, I drive with them all the time and only lowered the pressure to 25 psi so my 1.7 60' time was O.K by me. With the Procharger my ET's probably won't go down all that much either, as a result of traction, but I should certainly trap somewhere close to 120 or more
