Default Painting H.r.e Wheels Need Advice

i have 540r's the outside rim is polished aluminium the center is chrome but the chrome is coming off, they are 6 yrs old, they have never seen winter and are well cared for, i think they should last longer than that for what they cost but thats another story. Im going to take them apart and have the chrome chemicelly removed, then have the centers painted, but what color? the car is medium blue metalic with a tan top, i was thinking the same color as the car but my teenage son says "that would look gay" [ not that there is anything wrong with it] he thinks i should go black, any other ideas or opinions, they will be done by carlisle and the car will be in the parade if any one wants to see the finished product, thanks bob

Maybe a medium silver, not grey, but lighter than the Z06 OEM wheels. Why not just polish the centers to match the rims?

Don't paint them at all. These are custom wheels and you want to take advantage of it for many reasons. Here's what I have on my Iforged wheels. Polished rim, no clearcoat; brushed center with clearcoat. If you go to the trouble of stripping the chrome, then the next step is to get the brushed look, then clearcoat. The look is stunning and very unique...truly a custom wheel to any onlookers.
