I put on an air box, filter and replaced the whole radiator shroud the other day, everything went fine. But now my outside temp always reads 69 degrees. I am sure I disconnected or pulled loose something. Where is this located under the hood. I found 2 wires taped together than "look like they were pulled loose from somewhere (on the lower front passanger side of the radiator) I also have 2 plug-in unattached in the same area. I believe one of them is my underhood light, but don't know what the other is. ANY help PLEASE......
Your external temp sensor is unplugged. It is located under the shroud, front passenger side. There is a small cut out where it sticks out into the oncoming air for the radiator.
I found that, but I must have pulled the wires out or something. I have 2 attached bare wires. Where does it plug in at? I don;t think is is the one coming from under the hood. but I tried attaching the wires to the plug you are talking about, and it still reads 69, do i have to drive the car for a while before it resets, or shoul it reset when i just start the car?
If the outside temperature goes up, the displayed
temperature will not change until:
The vehicle’s speed is above 16 mph (26 km/h) for
one and a half minutes.
The vehicle’s speed is above 45 mph (72 km/h) for
one minute.
These delays help prevent false readings. If the
temperature goes down, the outside temperature display
is updated immediately.
If the vehicle has been turned off for more than three
hours, the current outside temperature will be shown
when you start the vehicle. If it has been turned off for
less than three hours, the temperature will be recalled
from the previous vehicle operation.
