Default Pen Magnet for TPS ReLearning??

I got a Craftsman 10lb lift capacity pen magnet today and was wondering if this would be strong enough to do whatever it needs to do to reprogram the TPS sensors?????

It sounds like you already have the pen magnet, so just try it and see. If it doesn't work, you won't have harmed anything. This will work for sure though.

Big thanks for the link!!! Made me realize that I've got a Component 6.5" speaker here that probably has a strong enough magnet in it!!! Oh well, needed a new pen magnet anyway!

I bought a 12lb pull magnet at the hardware store and it worked. So 10 lbs might be close enough.

As Mr. Lucky said....you already have the pen magnet...might as well try it.

I use a cow magnet to do mine.

I think all the magnet does is tell the sensor to send a pulse.

This is what the GM magnet looks like:

You don't need anything that large.

I use these and they work just fine:

This is what the GM magnet looks like:

I picked up a magnet that looks almost like the GM one shown here. Except it's chrome, has no sticker on it, and only cost about $5 at Ace Hardware. I think GM gets sommething like $68 for theirs! The $5 one works great!
