tire sensor

I have 20 inch tires on my 97 and can't get the tire read out off unless I reset it.. Is there any way to bypass the sensor..

I think you are asking if it is possible to turn off the sensors?

If so, it can only be accomplished with a Tech2:

i dont think its possible on a 97 to turn it off.

Ahh...you may be right.

A lot of things changed on these cars in 2001. I'll see if I can verify.

This correct. Two different Tire Pressure Monitoring systems were used during the C5 model years. The first type was used for model years 1997 through 2000 and cannot be disabled. The second type was used for model years 2001 through 1994 and can be disabled by a dealer's shop or other using a Tech II scan tool. However, I understand more dealers are becoming reluctant to disable the 2001 - 2004 TPM system calling it safety related.

Your batteries are probably dead, they are only good for about 10 years I believe. Do a search on here for a guy that replaces the batteries for much cheaper then the cost of new sensors...
