In my wife's '03 Trailblazer has OnStar..
In additon to the mirror, there is a black box the size of a radio in the rear right quarter panel ....
The mirror only houses the microphone and the activation buttons....

Well yes, that was why I asked the question. It's not just the mirror, and if you're not going to do all the wiring and other parts required (like the transmitter, receiver, and antenna), then why do it at all -- just to have that "On Star" look and pizazz?
