Default Vortex Question

I just installed my Vortex but I have one question. Where do you put the vaccum tube? Is it best to drill into the Vortex and mount it there, or drill a hole into the shroud? If anyone has pics of where they have theirs mounted I would greatly appreciate. Thanks

Sorry, dont have any pics,
But mine is just off to the side of the Vortex box against the shroud, held in place by a black wire tie.

Take care.

I ran down to the garage with my digital camera to take a picture for you. It's just as CMilVette said, the hose is just attached to the shroud with a tie wrap. The picture is taken from the front of the car, with the hood up, looking through the gap between the hood & front bumper. Hope it helps.

Bat----Red sent a good pic. Its possible to make a cleaner installation by centering the hose on the side of the box next to that middle screw he shows. There are some issues though as the hose used to be hooked to the "filtered " side of the airbox and needs a filter now, thus that supplied one. You can cut a hole and mount it inside, utilizing that supplied filter and that will satisfy the requirement, leave that filter nipple pointing out to accept the hose and you are done. It seems to me that the idea came from someone here in the Vortex install tips section, but I thank them.

Take a quarter and super glue it to where you want the hose to
enter the vortex box. use a dremel tool to cut around the quarter.
This will leave you a perfect fit for the stock end to fit into the vortex
box. Also take the small filter (white) out of the vortex and place it
in the elbow of the stock unit & you are ready to go!

thanks guy, I have an idea of how I am going to do it now. I like Rugby's idea. I think it looks the cleanest. I had seen that before but wasn't sure what the consensus was on that.
