What do you have on the front?
The Active handling system looks for the rpm's of the rear tire to be less than the front tire or assumes you have lost traction.
Thus the front tire diameter needs to be less than the rear tire diameter.
assuming you have 245/45/17 diam = 25.7 inches
285/35/18 diam = 25.8 inches ( if i did the math correctly)
It is close. I suspect the Active handling will engage more frequently given this very slight differences, especially if the rears wear more than the fronts...
But I'm no expert...
That is well within the tolerances that the C5 Active Handling will permit. I have run stock C5 Z06 wheels, 18s all around as well as 19s all around on my 2004 Coupe with no adverse effects on the AH.
