Default Anybody have this before?

"High Coolant Temp" on the DIC and on the gauge. Got this last night driving home and pulled over immediately. Funny thing is I dont think the coolant was low. The oil temp was still in the normal range and the fans were running fine. I checked for debris blocking the radiator but nothing. I'm thinking maybe it's a bad thermostat or just a bad sensor. The car only has 30k on it.
Anyway I guess I'll find out soon. Had it towed to the dealer just to be safe. I have no interest in taking a chance and having the car over heat. Any thoughts?

There is a 1" space between the radiator and the AC condensor that can get clogged up with all kinds of crap! I would check that area too! i have see a radiator with grass and dirt so bad in that area that you could barely see the fins!!!

Yes,, the thermostat can go bad also. If it is bad, i would just install a 178 degree stat in its place! be careful with what the steeler says that is wrong!!!!! if they say is a pump,,,,I would have to call

Let us know how you make out..

Thanks for the reply Bill. My dealer just called and said its was as you said loaded with junk in between the radiator and the condensor. I looked up in front of the radiator but it was dark last night and didn't know to check between the two. I have been doing business with the same dealer for over 20yrs now and luckily they have always been pretty straight forward with me.
Thanks again.

And now,, the rest of the story:

I hope that they were as straight forward with their prices. I say, one hours labor. $70-$100 depending on your location. Glad that it was a simple fix and you will be back on the road cool calm and collective!!!

Drive it like you stole it!!

$92 bucks. Brown & Brown Chevrolet (Mesa, AZ).
Of course they gave it a courtesy point check and said everything else looks good. They even gave me a voucher for a free car wash. Not that I'll ever use it, only hand washing for me.
I'm back cruzin again.
