I put on my Vortex air intake this weekend. I knew it would give me a few hp but I didn't realize that it would also affect the sound of the car. Thanks Kevman and ShanMan14 for the instructions and insight. Corsa Indy's are next on the list. I love my car!
carolinaC5, did you pull your maf screen out also? pretty easy to do, just don't go to far back and mess with the sensors :nono: See my sig for mods. An A4 with 2.73 gears turning a 13.33@109mph in the 1/4. Just need those 3.42's and t/c for the 12's. You can do it too :yesnod: :D
I got my Corsas installed at Midas. No one else wanted to mess with a Vette. They did a good job... It's real simple to do and they have drive-on lifts. I stood there and watched the guy work.
It rocks!! I haven't figured out if I'm burning more gas because of it or because I keep wanting to punch it so I can feel it! I think I'm at the early stages of a growing addiction problem. I need to get those Corsa's ASAP .
I installed my Corsa exhaust in my garage with just a jack and two floor stands. It was very easy, even in to 95°+ weather we were having at the time. My only problem was not having the car quite high enough to get the stock system off. I ended up cutting the over-the-axle portion of the pipe with a very dull hacksaw. That was the worst part. Rest was a piece of cake.
I know that it can be done at home, I'd like to do that, but I'd prefer not to cut anything. In order not to cut, the general consensus is that the back end of the car needs to be around 3 feet off the ground. I'll probably get Midas or to do it.
Hi Tom! You have one of the best tuners in your own back yard http://www.moreperformanceinc.com . Ask for Mike and tell him that George (from Columbia) recommended you. They can do great things with the LS1/LS6.
Glad someone benefitted from my miniscule experience and oh-so-limited C5 knowledge. This board rocks and so does the Vortex! Lots of helpful experts here for sure.
