ive been having some problems with my tranny, im looking into getting a different one the car has close to 80k miles on it.
It shifts really hard into 2 and hard into 3rd. im pretty sure i feel some slipping in there, The previous owner had a tune on in it, and we think pumped the pressure in the trans up, I was wondering if there is a way to take away the tune and resetting the pcm to the stock configuration?
The dealer can reflash your PCM with the stock tune.
Have you tried flushing the fluids and so on?
If you do require a new transmission there is no one I could recommend more highly than Rodney at RPM. I run one of his beefed up A4's and know that he will stand behind his product.
You can find someone with HP Tuners, EFI Live or LS-1 Edit and they can change the tranny settings back to something more civilized. If the dealer does it, once he flashes the PCM, you have LOST any tune that you may have had in the PCM previously! A tuner can save your tune or modify it as long as the PCM isnt locked.
