My friend has a new C6 and can program it to display anything he wants it to read out on the dic, he told me he was pretty sure that I could also do it on my 2001 C5, but I don't have the same options he has under options, any suggestions?
My guess is you are stuck with "Corvette by Chevrolet".
To be honest.. in the lat 4 years...I don't remember even looking at it... until the miles come up... now for me... the C6 with the 50 more stock HP would be of more interest, than having the DIC read out" Your good enough, smart enough, and by golly...people like you".
You never saw "OLD" shows of Saturday Night Live... I only meant that I think the feature of programing the DIC to say things... is no big thing... not to offend you...

Thanks
then have him do it; you can sit back & watch.. then chuckle a little.
Nope, no way to have the power-up message changed on the C5.
OK guy's I really appreciate the help, he just thought that I'd probably be able to do it on mine, that's all.
However I did see his after starting it up, it reads B.M.F. (use your imagination). I just thought it would be kinda different / fun having something else pop up other than the norm.

I have played with my DIC quite a bit and can't get it to do much of anything. The best I can tell so far is all messages are stored in microcode in the IPC processor and triggered over the serial data buss. I was hoping the DIC could be triggered to display a message by sending it over the serial data buss but it don't seem to work that way. I have not gave up, it would be a lot easier to figure out if GM didn't put proprietary numbers on all their electronic components!
