This question is for a friend who has a 2:73 diff, I have read numurous threads that say you need a different case for 3:42's or 3:73's, but then again I see in the parts for sale section, 2:73 diffs with 3:42 or 3:73's in them, what is the correct information, is it possible to stick 3:42's in a 2:73 case , and if so what is needed to accomplish this with no adverse problems.

That is incorrect information that has been floating around on the internet for years now with no validity in the least... The differential builders that are saying this nonsense are the same one's that don't have the expertise to convert a 2-series differential properly for HP use like we've been doing for years now with outstanding, positive results to date. Many of our dealers, jobber installers, installing tuners and warehouses all have carried them for quite sometime now with many folks using them to this very day on this board with continued success. The 2-series differentials are stronger than what most think...
So a 2:73 case would have to be sent to your shop for proper installation of gears, lets say 3:42's, then shipped back and installed, any idea on the cost of this -vs- just getting a 3:42 rearend shipped and then installed.
thanx
Ahhh! nevermind , just seen your website, great info, $1799 for a A4 with exchange, do you have a non core price, for example for people who do not want to remove there old diff until the new one arrives for install.Does your shop require the old diff to then be shipped back to you for a core charge credit.

Thanx for the info.
Not quite correct.. Our price for the Stage 1 differential is $1299 exchange, not $1799. The $1799 cost is for in-house A4 differential installations only that includes calibration, installation labor and fluids.
