Ticking Lifter(s)

I'm experiencing a ticking sound that sounds like lifter(s) on my mostly stock '02 LS1. The ticking correlates with RPM but is most noticeable at idle, more so when cold. The only mods are x-pipe and cat-backs. The oil is Mobile 1 and was recently changed. The mileage on the engine is only 14K. Car has not been driven hard or raced.

What's the cause and what will it take to fix it?

Find the build date on the car. The first couple of weeks of production used the piston that were not coated and it "could" be piston slap. If its later production, probably not.

Gm top cleaner..... Had the same issue here. 2 bottles of top clean in the pcv hole, 10 minutes of smoke and the ticking was gone..
