Is head matching for a cam needed?

Is head matching for a cam needed?
I was thinking about buying this local vette for 18k(FRC-full options, 51k). I was wondering, if I purchased ls6 heads and intake, what cam would be good? I wasn't sure if the ls6 heads needed a specific cam, and how can I tell what would be good? I want something with a lopey sound, but not something that ruins driveability.

The LSx heads are intake biased and respond well with split duration cams. I run a 230-236 112 XE-R and it's perfect for the kind of driving I do. It's got a definite lope to it but doesn't shake the ***** off the dash. I use my car for cummuting on nice days, trips and fun. talk to whoever is going to tune your car and figure out exactly what you want from the car. You're going to want LT headers to get the most out of any H/C package.

Yeah. I was plannin full exhaust, h/c/i, and maybe like Vararam Ram Air for the car. I should get the car some time this week. That cam seems about what I was looking for, but I was thinking maybe a 227/234 or something, but I'm not sure if there is a HUGE difference between that and one like yours.
