Default Dyno Tune - Crash Course Needed

I have an friend of friend who works at a place that does Dyno tunes. He told me the C5 responds very good to them and I should definately get one. Standard price is $550. Can someone tell me what to expect as far as numbers go (I know this one is tough)? Also what exactly will they be doing? I assume my car will go on the dyno to do a base run and then they will plug in the computer and apply some changes and run again etc etc?

Any other kinds of questions I should be asking pre tune? Any downside to the tune? Last but not least, anything special I should ask them to do (i.e. make the fans come on earlier)?

If you are stock, not sure it is worth the money at this point. But the fans and the 1 to 4 shift light. If you have a stick, around 300 - 305 hp.

You will notice a good difference with torque management reduced and tuming and AFR corrected. He can also raise your speed limiter and redline which can help.

$550 is pretty expensive for a stock car, imho. Providing you use a good tuner it does make a good difference in how the car drives, and the dyno really helps to nail the a/f ratios.

Not worth it if its totally stock. Instead get the gears done and notice a big difference.

I'd at least wait and open up the exhaust with a nice set of headers and a free flowing cat back. It's well worth the wait.
