Default Headers with Corsa Indy or Touring

I am planing on American Raging Headers and a corsa exhaust system. How do the headers effect the niose levels when added to the cat back systems. I am looking at corsa for the no-drone design, but some threads are saying with headers combined with the Indy system the car screams at WOT and is quite load at cruising speeds. If I combined the headers with the touring edition my thought is it would produce a niose level comprable to just adding the cat back indy system. What do all you guys think?

Default Great Question

I'd also like to hear what you folks think. Lookin at a complete header system with cats. Touring or Indy for decent sound and low noise?

I have L.G. Motorsports long-tube headers, with Corsa's Touring exhaust on my Z06. I tried the Pace Car exhaust, but it was too loud at cruise for my taste. The Touring package with headers is pleasant at cruise and idle, and it ROARS at WOT.

I have Stainless Works headers and Corsa Indy cat backs and a Magnaflow X pipe. There is no drone at any rpm and when you get on the gas you definetly know that the Vette is running. The headers made the Corsa system somewhat louder. If you are not on the gas you don't hear the exhaust.

Kooks w/Corsa Touring here. I think you'll be happier in the long run.

Corsa Touring with Dynatech on my '04 coupe. Definately louder than Corsa Touring with Corsa X pipe. To my ear Noise levels are comparable to Corsa Pace car with Corsa X pipe, (which I have on my convertible) but a different quality. Re-introduced some popping, but I really like the sound. Sort of "raspy". I think the Pace Cars with headers would be too much for me.

Default Noise

I have B&B Bullets on my 01, and was considering headers down the road. Having bought my car with the Corsa Touring, I know what quiet is. I have a hard time believing that the headers could make the Corsa Touring even as loud as the Bullets are on an otherwise stock car. I've already gotten used to my Bullets, and almost wish they were louder

I think the biggest factor is whether or not you guys are running off road pipes. Cats are more like mufflers than the actual mufflers are, IMO.

same here...

i had the corsa before the headers and it was almost too quiet but when i added the headers and off road x, the car sounded like an animal at WOT but still super quiet at cruise and idle.

I have to "resonate" what others have here as well... headers with the Corsa Touring will be quiet at cruising speeds and loud @ WOT. IMO... if you went a step farther and removed the cats and had a custom exhaust installed it would work the same... and be louder at WOT than before.

Corsa Pace with Dynatech LT's. Fairly quite on idle, big throaty roar at WOT, and not too bad at cruise. No drone, well, the drone is the same with or without the cat-back, kinda like a church mouse

The WOT roar seems to be a higher pitch in the car compared to outside of the car. I ran an auto-cross just after the LT install. I may have been concentrating more on the course than the sound of the car, but my son was working a corner and told me it has a low, mean growl (bad azz is how he put it) when I was seriously on the throttle.

I have the exact same setup. Had the Vette Doctors install their American Racing headers with cats and x-pipe along with Corsa Pace Car muffs with Daytona tips. Works great for me! good luck and Happy Vetting

LGM LTs, 3" Random Tech Hi Flow cats, with Corsa Indys. Nice idle and downright nasty at WOT, and believe it or not no drone/resonance, at highway cruising speeds, least with the MN6. At 75 in 6th gear the tire noise is louder than the exhaust note.

The corsas do have a somewhat higher pitched sound some people don't care for. You might try to find a local vette club or car show and listen to a few set ups.

I would say the touring edition W/LTs would still be quieter than indys W/stock manifolds, but thats just my guess. This would be too quiet for me but my cars not a daily driver.

Hope this helps.

I wish I had done that, or found this forum before I went through 4 different cat-backs

Go listen in person first, best way to do it.
