Default Tire question please?

I am buying new tires very soon...I have a contact @ a Goodyear wholesale store.
I am thinking of the Goodyear GS D3's, (990.00) cash or he has some Goodyear F-1 supercars for 850.00.
What would you do and does anyone know about the F-1's?

Thanks!

the f1 supercars z06 sizes are unreal. bad issues: 20000 mi. not run flat should have large white side walls saying never drive near the speed limit in the rain. i put them on my 01 coup after 25000 mi. i got 110000 k now . every 20/30 k supers back on . add z06 sway bars and only mad dogs will stay in turns with ya

I replaced my worn out F1's with the Firestone WideOvals. They are much quieter and wet traction is 5x better. My Z is in traffic everyday so wet traction is important. What I really like is I can spin'em all the way through 1st & 2nd gear on dry pavement...... that's tough to do with the F1's.

George...

That's an outstanding price for the Supercars... you will love them in the dry as there are few tires short of "R" compond tires that will grip like they do on dry pavement. Lots of folks use them on the track as well.

Having said that, if you have stock wheels and drive in the rain, I would recommend the GS D3's. While there are cheaper tires available, I don't think you will be the least bit unhappy.

I was recently on a cruise with our Corvette club. We ended up on an interstate in a quick downpour. I was last just behind a friend that had recently installed GS D3's on his highly modified C4. He was throwing up so much water I had to move left... or use my wipers... heaven forbid! As I moved out I could see the water coming off of the entire line of Corvettes... hands down the GS D3's were throwing up the most water...

Good luck... GUSTO
